Case Study

How do I begin to describe the impact that Rachel has had on my life in her role as my Life Coach?! I came to her last summer, with all sorts of yukky stuff that had been stale, frustrating, and hopeless stumbling blocks my entire life. (Let me say also that I had been into personal development per se for a decade or so at this point – so it’s not that I hadn’t tried to get this stuff moving!)

I was hesitant initially – the idea of some tyrant with a clip board chastising me for failing to follow through was NOT my idea of fun! (That’s what I assumed coaching would be like… someone telling me what to do and then berating me for not managing to do it!) I was allergic to the word ‘Goal’ and any sense of being driven by action brought me out in a cold sweat!

I could not have been more wrong in my estimation of what coaching was; in the form that Rachel, in her immense skill and wisdom, embodies it. I tentatively booked in for three sessions, hoping that by the end I might have some idea what I wanted to do with my career. I insisted on one thing… that it should feel good every step of the way – no ‘end justifying the means – no pain no gain’ approach for me thank you very much!

All I can say is that, within those first three sessions, Rachel had enabled me not only to tackle my career direction; but to turn around the biggest three issues I had – which had been bugging me forever and were effortlessly dispatched with her calm, empowering facilitation.

And now, 10 months later, I am almost unrecognisable! The changes Rachel has inspired in me are beyond description – not just in physical terms – the private jet hasn’t manifested yet – but in terms of the joy, confidence and energy with which I now participate in life.

For the first time in my life, New Year’s Eve brought forth a flow of enthusiasm and appreciation and excitement for future projects and things yet to come! (Previously I have had very little to say… bumbling along ok, nothing particularly to celebrate, nothing specific to look forward to.)

All I can say is – if you’re thinking about coaching and want to make changes in your life, you’ll not find a better coach anywhere! Go for it! Amaze yourself! And no, Rachel is not paying me for this!

And to Rachel… A million thanks!
